Venkat Prabhu is the director and AGS Entertainment is the producer of the 2024 Indian Tamil secret action thriller The Greatest of All Time, popularly known as GOAT. Alongside Prabhu Deva, Prashanth, Mohan, Jayaram, Ajmal Ameer, Vaibhav, and Meenakshi Chaudhary, Vijay plays four characters in the movie. Abyukta Manikandan, Yogi Babu, Sneha, Laila, and Premgi Amaren. It is the studio's twenty-fifth production and Vijay's penultimate movie before to entering politics. The movie centers on Gandhi, the former head of a the fight against terrorism squad, who gets back together with his team members to deal with the issues brought on by their earlier behavior.Since it marks Vijay's 68th feature as a starring actor, the film was initially announced at May 2023 beneath the provisional title Thalapathy 68. The actual title was revealed in December of the same year. In October 2023, principal filming was underway, and it was finished by the end of June 2024. 

Chennai, Srilanka, Thailand, Russia, and the United States were among the places used for filming. Yuvan Shankar Raja created the film's music, Siddhartha Nuni handled the photography, and Venkat Raajen edited it. Critics gave The Greatest of All Time mixed reviews when it was released globally on September 5, 2024, in both normal and IMAX formats. While they applauded Vijay's acting, action scenes, and climax, they also criticized the film's lack of developing the characters and narrative. In order to extract uranium from terrorist Omar, the Special Anti-Terrorism Squad, which included M. S. Gandhi and his colleagues Sunil Thiagarajan, Kalyan Sundaram, and Ajay Govindharaj, intercepted him in Kenya in 2008. The same train also contains their previous boss, Rajiv Menon, who fled after being accused of treason. Assuming that Menon and everyone else on the train have perished, they take the nuclear material from Menon and demolish the train. 

The group conceals their true employment from their family by living underground as travel agency workers back in Delhi. Gandhi's wife, Anuradha, also known as Anu, is expecting, and they have a five-year-old boy named Jeevan. When Gandhi is given another assignment in Bangkok, he brings his family over to allay Anu's fears of adultery. Gandhi & his family are ambushed once the mission is over, causing Anu to give birth and Jeevan to vanish for no apparent reason. Gandhi is distraught when the police discover a burned body they suspect to be Jeevan's. After giving birth to a daughter, Anu becomes distraught and stops talking to Gandhi. Gandhi quit SATS in 2024 and is currently employed at Chennai's airport as an immigration officer. 

He and Anu live apart, while Anu lives with their daughter, Jeevitha. Gandhi's old employer Nazeer invites Kalyan to travel to Moscow to teach new officials in the Indian Embassy, which has reopened, at Kalyan's recommendation. Gandhi reluctantly consents, but a gang attacks the embassy while he is there. After fending them off, Gandhi is startled to notice a juvenile doppelgänger among the assailants. When he assists him in repelling the assailants, he verifies that it is Jeevan. When they get back to Chennai, the family gets back together, and Anu begins talking to Gandhi once more. Declaring that the material is too sensitive to discuss over the phone, Nazeer summons Gandhi to the the city of Chennai Metro station for an urgent meeting. A guy in a mask attacks Nazeer. Gandhi makes there in time to repel the assailant, but the masked man later identified as Jeevan kills Nazeer.
