The Witcher Sirens of the Deep (2025) Folder Icon Pack
The Witcher world serves as the setting for the 2025 adult animation fantasy drama film The Witcher Sirens of the Deep. Rae Benjamin & Mike Ostrowski wrote it, and Kang Hei Chul directed it.
Geralt, a mutant monster hunter hired to investigate attacks on seashore villages, discovers a long-standing dispute between people and their sea creatures that might lead to kingdom-to-kingdom combat. He starts out to unravel the riddle with the help of allies before the conflict intensifies. During The Witcher Nightmare of the Wolf, Netflix initially revealed plans for a second anime feature film at Tudum: A Netflix Global Fan Event in September 2021.
Instead of developing a fresh plot based on information that Andrzej Sapkowski teases throughout The Witcher series, chief executive Tomek Baginski declared in the months that followed that the movie will be based directly on one of his works. Later, when Netflix also unveiled the name of the movie The Witcher Sirens of the Deep as a teaser trailer, it was discovered that this was the short novella A Little Sacrifice within Sword of Destiny. As with Nightmare of the Wolf, Netflix worked alongside South Korean animation studios Studio Mir, Studio IAM, Platige Image, and Hivemind. The actors and a 2024 release date were also announced.
Doug Cockle reprised his role as Geralt of Rivia's voice actor from the video gaming series when Henry Cavill quit the show. Christina Wren joins the cast, Anya chalotra & Joey Batey will return to their roles in the live-action series. In the end, the movie was postponed until February 11, 2025. With a normal rating of 5.6/10, 59% of the reviews from 17 critics are positive on the review aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes. Based on reviews from eight critics, Metacritic, which employs a weighted average, gave the movie a score of 54 out of 100, reflecting average or mixed reviews.
