Kelly Marcel is the writer and director of the 2024 American superhero movie Venom: The Last Dance, which stars Venom from Marvel Comics. As the fifth movie in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SSU), it is a follow-up on Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Following the release of the second Venom movie, Hardy announced in August 2018 that he had been signed on to star in a third one, and Sony Pictures had started development by December 2021. By June 2022, Marcel & Hardy were working on the script, and that October, Marcel was scheduled to direct the movie for the first time. Ejiofor and Temple joined the cast in the middle of 2023, and filming in Spain started at the last day of June 2023. 

The 2023 the SAG-AF strike put a stop to production the next month, and it restarted in the month of November while the strike was over. By the close of February 2024, the movie was finished, and a month later, its title was announced. On October 21, 2024, Venom: The Last Dance made its New York City premiere on the Regal Times Square cinema theater. On October 25, it came out in the United States. Critics gave the movie mixed reviews, praising Hardy's results, the action scenes, and the special effects but criticizing the narrative. Globally, it has made $479 million. Intoxicated at a Mexican bar, Eddie Brock & the Venom symbiote have been transported to the planet Earth-616 through Doctor Strange's magic. 

They are compelled to return to Earth-688, their home universe, while discussing Thanos & the Infinity Stones with the bartender. Eddie, still on the run following their previous battle with Carnage, is forced to travel to New York City and try to clear his reputation after the claimed assassination of Patrick Mulligan garners international attention and he is deemed the lead suspect. A Xenophage has started pursuing Eddie and Venom without either of them realizing it. 

Rex Strickland, a soldier in charge of Imperium, a government operation near the location at the soon-to-be-decommissioned Area 51 military facility for the capture and analysis of additional symbiotes that have fallen to Earth, becomes aware of the recent events. Following being rendered for die by another symbiote that escaped Strickland's forces, Mulligan who turns out to have recovered his meeting with Carnage is taken into custody. Before Strickland is given the order to bring Venom down, he forms a bond with one of the numerous caged symbiotes and is interrogated by Sanctum experts Dr. Teddy Paine & Sadie Christmas to find out why the symbiotes are here on Earth.
