Based on Jay Bonansinga's 1997 novel of that name, The Killer's Game is a 2024 US action sketch comedy film director J. J. Perry, written by James Coyne & Rand Ravich . Hitman Joe Flood carries out an assassination at a dance performance in Budapest, but guards catch him. Joe finds a fallen dancer named Maize in the resulting confusion and assists in her safe escape. She attempts to express her gratitude, but before Maize can assist him, Joe leaves after developing a headache. Joe returns Maize's phone, which she misplaced during the prior chaos, and finds her at her dancing studio after being examined for his headaches. Joe lies to Maize about his occupation, but they quickly fall in love. Dr. Kagan, Joe's doctor, quickly determines that Joe has Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease and gives him around three months to survive. Zvi, Joe's handler and buddy, rejects Joe's request to put a contract on him that would enable Maize to earn life insurance proceeds upon Joe's passing.
To handle the task, Joe turns to another killer and operator, Marianna Antoinette. After accepting the contract, Marianna—whose father had taught Joe prior he killed him—sends out the hit, which goes into effect at midnight. Later, in a drunken voicemail, Joe discloses his diagnosis and publicly ends his relationship with Maize that evening. Dr. Kagan contacts Joe shortly before midnight to let him know that his test results were mixed up with those of another patient, leading to a misdiagnosis. The Korean Goyang and his crew, the first of Marianna's assassins, assault Joe at midnight, and he promptly murders them. Joe also kills the Hungarian Langos brothers, who follow after attacking with their motorbikes. Marianna raises the price of the deal from the original $2 million to $4 million after Joe tries to cancel it and she contacts every hitman in Europe.
Along with the British strippers Ginni and Tonya, also known as the Party Girls, a dancing assassin named Botas, and Scottish brothers Angus and Rory Mackenzie, Lovedahl Gasevich, who declined the first contract, joins the search. Joe goes to see Zvi and his partner, Sharon, who treats his headaches and visual issues. Joe lures the other assassins to a neighboring castle by setting up traps there. Joe swiftly eliminates the majority of the assassins that come to assault him. When Lovedahl gets to Budapest in the meantime, he is compelled to work with Money, an ambitious assassin. They find Maize, follow her to her apartment, and capture her. Using Maize's phone, Lovedahl phones Joe and instructs him to arrive at a local graveyard.
